  • Rear End Housing

Just got a call to do a rear end housing off a 98 Fletwood. I think he wants it done in chrome. Have not seen it yet. Said he wants to do it in powder instead of sending it to Calif. to be done in regular chrome.

Told him to make sure it was clean and bare metal.

Never done a rear end housing before. What do I need to look out for if anything?

Does $210 to $250 range sound good?

    Thanks,

Thanks, got that, clean, clean, clean.

What would you suggest the best chrome to use.

Will it need a clear coat?

      Re: Rear End Housing

The housing to ME is going to have outgasing issues (I think). If it was ME I would coat flat black first then chrome. I would not want to strip this item.

Little more info needed. Why do the black first? What will that do for me?
Is it to cover up any OG?

          Re: Rear End Housing

Chrome is known to OG easier than other powders. IF you use a flat black base this will decrease the chance of OG for chrome. Being that most rear ends are iron...I wouldn't chance it, but once again this is my opinion.

HD how do you feel about this?
