I am sure some where its been ask

I will start with say PBTP powders. And that should cover all maybe?
What should one not try to mix with what? If they are the same type of powder then one should be good. But every now and then I see some company call it this and another call it that? They might just give letters and then they might give a name of it. So maybe a letter name going with a name name might help a bit?

I think I will go fix me a drink before I get confused Ok CPC another one! You HAPPY now

What you all guys got for info?

Its my LAZY night as some guys would say. Just don't want to go researching. Brain ain't with it! Its Monday I think

Got to coat the wife's 84 BMW wheels tomorrow. Gee I hope she be happy?

If you are mixing powders you need to contact us before you do so to make sure the blends will mix with no adverse affects ! Different blenders use different resin packages and this could create major problems....

      Re: Mixing Powders

I was kind of noticing that powders were made up different and that's why I thought I would ask.

A while back with my first order from you there was a 8oz sample of silver stardust in with it ( I think its this one? SILVER STARDUST MINI TEXTURE) so I shot a panel with it yesterday and said that would look great on the wife's BMW wheels and really looked good with your clear starlight over it and would look great with just clear. The wheels are only 14" but it would not be enough to shoot but just 2 if lucky and really don't want to just order one color at the moment.

The BONDED STARDUST SILVER SPARKLE would look great also I bet.

I was wondering what I had I could mix with it and end up with a lb of powder to do her wheels and then clear them. With only a small amount of it I really can't do a proper test and also if the two powders were not compatible I would be screwed to boot.

So I think I am going to shoot them in your X-treme chrome and then clear with your starlight. That looked great yesterday also. I have the wheels ready to coat so I think I will do them today. A little hard to move the car without its wheels

That clear starlight looked great on 4 other panels also and looked great by its self but need to make sure you have no discoloration of want to use it on for sure just like any clear over raw would be.

I really don't need to call you on this project because its no biggie but if a customer wanted me do come up with something different then you bet I will be on the phone to you for help in a flash.

I did mix CC gunmetal with some of their chrome last year and it turned out looking real good on a carb top. I guess to make it hold up it might would need a clear on it? If I mixed your stardust with your X-Treme that might look good also if it would mix?

OK enough I guess. Off to the shop for me.

Thanks for the reply and trying to help

        Re: Mixing Powders

I would add a metal flake to the stardust mini-tex instead:

the Stardust Silver Sparkle stands on her own and could effect the textured look

          Re: Mixing Powders

Thanks for all your help and the phone conversation and information. The wife picked to X-treme and the clear starlight but at least I know what I mixed will work and looked good also.

Weather permitting will do the tomorrow as long as I can keep my humidity in place.

But I have a whole car to do so it will be a while and a bunch of work and love and a big hug when done

Its a 528e that we /she has had for 14 years and it has been our big mail box for the last 5 for the mail lady to put the mail in that would not fit in the box We found out what the problem with it was a few years ago and got the parts but I was on the road all the time and could not get it road worthy till I decided to go full powder coating and paint and stay home. So now I have got my 83 XJS and her 71 VW bug to get back in shape and ready for the road and looking good again also. So I can stay busy on catching up for sure!
