First time on the board. I bought the king gun and made some helpful mods copying my caswell gun's fluidization process.I went to my local Festo store and bought about 28 bucks worth of hardware and my first try has been positive.(No more powder builup in the barrel) I would like to post pictures but can't figure out how.If somebody can help me out it would be appreciated!More to follow...

It sounds like a lot of steps but its quick. I use it ALL the time.

Re: KING GUN MODIFICATIONS
Here is what the iside looks like. I will cover the air input (fluidizer/powder fluffer) with some kind of cover, plastic or metal with four holes drilled on the sides to prevent powder from entering the hole. A buddy is supposed to bend me a copper tube to replace the vinyle tube and hose barb. Auto-cycle the first picture shows a T with the 8mm hose going to the bottom of the first regulator from the right. From the top you take a 6mm tube to my modifed cup cover.This mod will work if pbtp gets these;

Re: KING GUN MODIFICATIONS
Hey Sparky,
Thanks for sharing this mod! I was trying to figure out a way to modify the funnel cup the china cup comes with, but this is much easier. I approached the air supply for the 'fluff' function a bit differently and simply tee'ed off the gun supply-- see pics below. I used 1/4" tubing and fitting from HD as it is close to 6mm. I threw together the Cu tube and lid just to test the concept and it appears to work really well. For the fluffing air terminus, I used a 1/4 cap and drilled 2 small holes in it. The hobby gun lid is too flimsy and the pickup tube routing is too tight to get a good seal (gasket won't fit), so tonight I will add a stiffener to the lid, change the pick up tube location, and bend a piece of steel tubing for the "J" shaped pickup (the Cu did not want to cooperate with the tight radius bend). This will be the 3rd modification I've made, each making incremental improvements on the design. I hope this is the last one until PBTP can come up with the fluidizer system.

Re: KING GUN MODIFICATIONS
Great mod Desert Pc.(nice and inexpensive)I am using the bottle and cap without a gasket and the powder is not leaking.Yes the cover is really flimsy and I need something a little sturdier.I am looking for a donor metal cap.Your air input cap looks good.
I used a plastic acorn nut with four holes drilled in it.
I learned doing this that the perfect entering PSI for the system is 30 psi and ajust both knobs according to the amount of powder you want to exit the gun.
Crimson,I don't have a video function on my camera but I will post some pictures.For under 30 bucks this is a great mod especially knowing it will work with a powder pump and hopper that I will soon buy.

Re: KING GUN MODIFICATIONS
C3PC,
Sorry, I haven't gotten a chance to take a pic, but here's what I did: I used a 1/4 NPTx 1/4" barbed fitting that passed through the lid; the 1/4" tubing from the tee just pushes on the barb. The 1/4" NTP pipe cap is what holds the barbed fitting on the cap ('bolts' it in place). I just drilled 2 small holes in the cap that provide the 'fluffing' action (visible in the picture). As for the intake tube upper half, it's just a "J" bend in copper, which was not too pretty, but here's a pic of a typical hobby gun bend. All this stuff was purchased from HD.
After using the setup to coat 4 bike frames this past weekend, I've identified further enhancements to the set up. I've ordered the materials and hope to experiment one night this week. 1) Backflow valve on air fluff supply (powder drains back into supply tube). 2) Nylon compression fittting for "J" bend tubing (improve clean up). 3) Dedicated clear cup (plastic jar), with metal lid to improve stiffness and seal. I'll post pics when I get these done.[attachment=0:288st3z3]hobbygun typ.jpg[/attachment:288st3z3]
