Just wondering what everyone does to advertise their business? Me, I have a little 1/2 business card size add in local paper, and have cards at local stores. I need to bring in more work, but cant afford to go radio or nothin fancy like that.

Re: Advertising, what do you do?
Craigslist, automotive forums of every kind, a fancy PC'd sign in the front yard, pass out business cards at the local car show every week. Next year I'll setup a vending site. I'm also working on a project car and writing it all off on my taxes as it will be my "show piece" at shows.
And like Harley said, find some small niche mom and pop shops and go in and talk to the owners. I plan on getting business from the waterjet cutter who made my front yard sign.
I'll also be putting a banner on my car with my website.

Re: Advertising, what do you do?
We're mainly using a variety of car forums right now, that's pretty much it besides word of mouth. 95% of our work is already in-house from people getting work done through JNZ Tuning. Eventually I want to get in the yellowpages, get good business cards made to send out and spam car shows. This year was mostly just getting setup and getting work in and out.

Re: Advertising, what do you do?
Business cards, graphics on the back glass of mine & my son's trucks, a yard sign at the shop, as many local bike/car shows as I can hit and the usual word of mouth that keeps me covered up.
I did have an idea for what could be a GOOD one...........trying to get set up as a stop on a few poker runs. If it's a larger run, there the possibility for 200-300 people coming by the shop in one day.

Re: Advertising, what do you do?
I went here and did the post card one and had one side like a business card and the other just my return address. They tried to sell me envelopes for some dumb reason and I also removed their logo was on the mailing side of the card. Its placed where the USPS says nothing should be there? You can remove it when you review it. Then you start looking up address like from the list that HD listed and print them to the stick on labels from Staples or someone and stick the card stamp on and gone. Getting correct address is the hardest part.

Re: Advertising, what do you do?
There are a mountain of postal regulations that require empty space on a card. If you don't o bide by those rules they can reject the pieces. Or it will take forever to get through the system because the pieces won't be able to fly through their automated system. I suggest following them...

Re: Advertising, what do you do?
I am listed here along with others. So take a look as how to do it. Its free. You get maybe an email a week on what is offered for coater. http://www.customcoaters.com/
I am listed here http://www.local.com/results.aspx?keywo ... iAodCkpVkg
They will be calling you to add better and more coverage if you can understand them? But its free
So if some one types in powder coating in your area it could show up. I get most of my calls this way.

Re: Advertising, what do you do?
I usually stick with the local car club forums and it seems to work fairly well. Not enough to keep me busy with only powder coat but this is not a full time job, so it's a nice steady flow of work. I'm currently only on 2 of them and only targeting 1 daily. If things keep growing then I will start looking around at other car clubs... although the word of mouth is already taking care of that part.
