  • Priceum check out side decor PLEASE

Well No I don't have a picture yet but I do have some info for a starter.

32"x72" porch rails and the fancy type he said not the plain jane ones. Got to blast and coat. I don't remember if he said just one pallet or more? The biggest problem I guess I will have is how old they are and how many paint jobs or on them. That I will have to kind of fig out how to charge for the stripping part and I hope that I can bring one back with me to see what it will take and that will help a bunch then maybe I can post a picture.

But lets say you had to do a fancy one that say just had a normal paint on it and you had to do one. What would be a good starting price?

Think goodness these will fit in my oven with no problem and should be able to do 15 or more at once. And also was thinking about using the # 38 RAL powder. It looks like it the best for this?

Out grew my oven. They are the exact height of my oven and then if that's not bad enough because of the depth I could only do one at a time because putting one in at an angle

51 1/2" by 83 1/2" and there are 52 of them. Lost this job for sure.

ACK! I hate that ornate crap! Blasting is a nightmare. I'd sure check on farming out that part to someone that can handle them properly (not that you can't, but you'll spend an awful lot of time blasting and very little time making any money), BEFORE quoting the job. Only doing 1 peice at a time ain't so bad as long as you can still meet any due date you may agree to (keep that in mind too). If the prep work is all done, you can crank them out pretty quick. If you do farm out the blasting, try to set it up so you only get a couple of days worth (cooking time) at a time or they'll flast rust and you'll be back at square one. I'd say between $85 & $100 each including blasting. What color? Anything special or just a solid tone? Good luck with that one.....$5200 will buy a lot of Scotch

Have already found a sandblast person and its going be exp for sure at $85 an hr. And I told him I could do the wielding on the added 2" and the only other opp as for as coating is going with the new chassis black 2K with ceramic over top epoxy primer. And looks like EW has that all to them selves? Look like it would do the job as well as powder and its want be driving down the road. So now its up to the owner that bought them used and not done already! The min on cost for all would be $5000 and I think close to $8000 and it all depends on what the red is under the black on them? But the house I would say that's being built is 2 to 3 mil so what a few more bucks??????? I bet he has over $5000 in them already with freight? His idea and his fence and his money!

Now if you could make a strip tank that would just handle say one at a time then get it prepped and ready until you get amout you are after and then start the painting process. But you would want a stripper that don't let metal rust about as soon as you pull it out like what I am using and have 55 gal of? I think I missed something or that was not said any thing about I guess? Because even if you had coated something and didn't like it and put it in to strip so you could just clean and prep and re-shoot you need to be superman because it will rust that quick?????? Its great for aluminum!

$85/hr for blasting isn't as bad as it sounds. My guy charges $100, but could crank out about 4-6 of those an hour, so @ $85/hr, you're looking at $14-$21 each for blasting, depending on how fast your guy can work. Say 2-3 pounds of powder per section, that's another $8-$12 each (depending on the powder and how much you buy), all that's really left for overhead is transportation to/from the blaster, spray time and oven operating costs. You ought to make out like a Banshee at $100 each. At 8 grand, that's around a buck fifty each, so even better. Plus you're going to have to knock something off the total for my consultation fee

Just remember they want fit in my oven I would have to go the other route and EW gets $60 per qt for their 2k ceramic chassis black and $50 per gal for the epoxy primer and another $40 for the catalyst for the primer. That's not real bad on price for the primer. But that's $240 for a gal of the paint. They don't list it by the gal? At least painting these would be less lose on paint than on something simple but trying to fig how much paint would be my biggest issue. That's why I gave him a per hr rate + material and transportation.

Oh, I thought you said you could do one at a time at an angle - oh well, maybe next time.

Cindy called me back today and gave me a coaters name and number below them. He can handle it all and I will do the add on welding before he gets them. So I will make some money on it +. That $5000+ would have been nice but that's the breaks. Next time I will have Ted make me a oven that stretches If I new it would be worth while I would get some help and advice and build a gas fired one and have it outside. Could you send me a few grand there CPC PLEASE But then all I would be coating would be door knobs like the guy with his first paying customer I did make $15 today doing a bracket for a radio for a boat. Wife will be happy if I let her have it That will buy me a bottle of RUM Maybe I keep it

Must cover ones habits don't you think

Todd is doing better she said and working on trying to stand longer so just maybe he will be back with use soon I hope. And she said she doing good also.
