Anybody know what a "Kyle Petty blue" match would be? A cust wants to do a tribute bike in that blue. Thought I'd ask until he can find me a pic or ral #. I've looked at pics of his cars and it kinda looks like a dark pepsi blue.

Re: Color Question
I'm pretty sure I've heard or read someplace years ago that the Petty Blue was an accident. It was two or more colors they had laying around in the shop years ago and none of it was enuff to paint the whole car, so they mixed everything together and the result is the Blue you still see today. You might trying contacting the Petty Racing Organization for color info - let them know about the project you're involved with. I'd bet that someone makes the "right" blue powder just for the Petty's. How cool would it be to use THAT stuff? -

And that gave me a chance to play with fading in using acrylic paints and not base coat clear coats. It works just have to have the other color ready and connect it to the gun and go for it. But it is not supposed to be able to do by most people? But where the heck did all the paint jobs come from for ever I say
Just having fun with it is where it comes from and the same with powder. If it can be in your mind it can work but not always maybe how you might want it to but that's life just go for it
