  • Dodge Caliber Orange - Color Match Request

Yet another color match question. Should we just start a thread specifically for color matching purposes only? :P

This is for the guy I did the alum. cast mirror black wheels for, he wants more stuff done.

This time I have no clue as to what would come close to it... any suggestions. It's another tricky color... why can't everyone stick to simple white, silver, or black cars?! lol

That's what I was thinking but I'm hoping to see better pictures... does it look like it has different shades to it? It doesn't seem like a very solid color, is that just the picture?

It would involve testing a couple of powders....

HD is on the right track. You can do the correct base to darken it up a tad.

I would like to see a iron glimmer gun metal base and the Copper HD posted. That would be my first test to see if I need more metallic and or darker or lighter. Do you have these colors?

ALSO a iron metal glimmer base might work $5.00 right now.

Other way to try it would be Platinum sparkle with 2 coats of copper HD posted if needed to darken.

          Some ideas.

It almost looks to me like you might need a bronze or even a candy red underneath the jollipop copper. I don't think you'll get the burnt orange color shooting it over a silver, even a dark one. Just my 2 cents.

I agree I dont think he will be dead on, but the test will show what he will need. After doing some testing and getting it perfect you write down what it took and boom you have the color whenever you need it. Now mixing is a totally different animal and I try to stay away from it if I can.

Wise has a good point^ Rootbeer Red would might be a good color under the jollipop copper. You never know until you try.

This is candy orange over Rosey's silver bullet. The picture of the car seems to be on a overcast day. Not real sure how bright the car is in day light. The shaded areas on this cover look close to the car. Might need a second coat to darken it some more.
