I finally got around to taking some pics of my oven rack for you guys. A simple lower trolley with swivel casters, and solid steel wheels on the rack portion that don't swivel. I roll the whole thing to the oven, pull a pin and roll the top rack right in.

Re: Rolling Oven Rack
Nice job Dan! I spent the day working on something similar for the new oven. I really like the locking pin idea... I was way over complicating that part on my design by using locks and hinges like what would find on an oven or a blasting cabinet. I can see how the pin would reduce the amount of movement on the rack when it comes time to roll it in.
I see you're not using tracks in the oven. I see the U shaped piece close to the element, is that to align the rack? Is it difficult to keep the rack straight without them or how that does part work? See where your two "docking angles" stick out of the base and go into the oven? I was thinking of having the same inside the oven so that they line up and there is no change in surface height for the casters... What do you think? Good idea?
Thanks for sharing pictures man, definitely given me a lot of good ideas so I'll be asking questions if you don't mind.

Re: Rolling Oven Rack
I do plan on extending the angle-iron tracks the full length of the oven, just haven't done it yet. That's why that strut is laying in there to guide the rack past the elements. Otherwise, yes there is a bit of a bump when the wheels roll off the angle on the bottom carriage.Dan

Re: Rolling Oven Rack
Easy and simple for most weight items. You can use unistrutt at the top if you want to have a lot of holes to move stuff around and I used the same rollers that work with unistrutt but used them upside down to roll it in. Just cover them up when shooting the powder so they roll free. I can take better pictures if any one is interested and wants something easy to handle and strong but lite weight.
I slide off the unistrutt to the unistrutt in the oven. You could just put some angle iron in also to keep it straight.
