      Re: Did Something Wrong

before thinking you did something wrong , you should try a test pnelon polished aluminium and one over real chrome plating
some candys like the black chrome , the gold tints and some others come out good only when applied over polishing or chrome

I have to agree with baz here I only sell the trans black (black chrome) as a top coat for chrome or polished alum. Here is a pic over chrome.

I put it on the cooled part (80 F), over the silver sparkle. It went on Fine no problem with this gun, but is was very hard to tell what was covered. I Have some round pieces of aluminum I will test on Toaday and If i Can Find some Chrome I will Try That to.

Something is not right like you stated.

Have you tried a test panel yet?

When you spray the Black Candy can you see through it to the silver sparkle?

Seems to look just like that. It looks like I put a clear coat on instead of the "Black Candy" on most of the surface. The Black is more silver than black, if that sounds right. Meaning i dont have eough powder on the part right?

YES! Polished or CHROME only. And GOOD chrome only too - none of that cheap chit. I've had this color laying around for a few weeks and had never shot a thing with it until yesterday. Did a fork slider can that was of questionable quality chrome and it turned out like hammerd dog poop. Did a brand new chrome kickstand and it is out-farking-standing!

This is my new favorite color, but will ONLY be done on perfectly polished or chrome plated parts. I'd like to shoot it over a chrome powder base, but I'm betting it'll suck like a bad chrome job.

But you can't beat that look of black chrome. I'm taking the kickstand to the customer tomorrow. It's freebie to try and get their business. Should be a done deal, cuase the parts they had on the counter that were fresh from the local p/c giant had blemishes the size of dimes and still had the masking tape on them. Who sends work out like that and not expects it to be coming back??? Mind-boggling. But I guess when you're the biggest shop in town, you can afford to have a high customer turn-over.

Tried again This time I put down Sing Stage Reflective Chrome From EW Then The Black Candy (PBTP)
Still looks to be not enugh powder but turned out a lil better than the other part.
I let the chrome fully cure and cool to room temp 60 F then shot the Black Candy @15psi (air) and the Kv was all the way up.
