No prep on it other than wipe down with acetone,i think i should have outgassed it as well as there are a few pinholes and looks like the cheap plating starting to come up a bit.I have some areas with thin coverage as well so i might strip it and do it again.Good practice for a newbie.Pic is with the sell phone, when i do some quality work i'll take some good pics.
Did you use a base coat? such as a metallic Stardust or Silver Explosion? This helps to add a little pop or alot to the Candy as well as even out the coating

Not to jack your thread WhistlerCowboy, but I'm having a very difficult time with candy colors.
I spray down the Silver Explosion base coat just fine, cure it and it comes out great. Then when it comes time to doing something like the Trans Red or Candy Green I just can't get an even coat or simply know how much is enough. Sometimes it's too light, sometimes I can't even see the silver base.
No basecoat,i'll try it with the silver stardust next.My first try at the candy green came out looking pretty sad...this was better but still light in a few areas.

The candy green is what I'm struggling with the most! I just can't get it to look consistent...

Have you tried doing 2 coats? Some colors just may need a second one in order to even out the color.

I carry a gun because I'm too young to die, and too old to take an ass-whoopin'!
Candy Green and Candy Purple are the most difficult to shoot, look at the consistancy of the powder color on the part ( any variation of color) before curing. After this, before curing, dust the part about 12" away.....
