Now, is there a general guideline for what powders are what? Like clears are "fill in the blank", candies are "blank", mirrors are "blank", etc, etc???

Well you can always look on PBTP's website to see what they are made out of if you click on the color. Some powders can be the same color, but have a different material make up.
Different manufacture's use different resins for their products..in other words, a candy is not always a polyester, black chrome is not always a metallic, ect. Depending on the blender a chrome may not be a TGIC polyester !
