  • My New Oven

I went and picked up my oven Saturday. I admire all the people who build their own ovens, I'm not one of those, I cheated and wrote a check. The older I get the more I do that. Oil changes, and other heavy greasy under car jobs get the check treatment too.
I bought this from Lee Hanson in Fairmont, MN. Its a 4x4x6 and very well built. Truly solid. It also has a good convection fan system and slots in the floor to roll in racks.
I have this at a friends paint shop right now, it was just plain stel on the outside and I want to get a coat of paint on it before I let it get rusty.

Looks like a well built oven! I assume it's electric? I'd be ready to try it out as soon as you get it painted. Good luck!!

Nice. I might add a ducted convection system like that eventually...if I feel the need. Haven't needed it so far.

Does this guy make ovens, or just had one for sale. I'm in the Twin Cities and would like to see what he has to offer.

                    Re: My New Oven

the convection set up is similar to mine , air intake on the top then pushed over the hot elements behind the panels and back out from the bottom , what i like about it is that i have almost no hot spots even if i have parts couple of inches from that rear panel

Care to expand on that a little so people know what to watch for or to plan for if they're buying/building an oven?

By the way, my oven is awesome, thanks Ted.

thanks dan . from all the pics you post it looks like it is doing everything you need it to .... even seen you got a wagner.... im jealous .

but the oven . i see a wire box behind the control box . it almost looks to me like the wiring is ran under the outter skinning , they may have high temp wire inside but it should not be under the skinning . the fan motor system on top . they took the time to make nice duct work but not a cover so users dont get there hands cuaght in the belt system.

he looks like he does nice work .i just hope hes not another shop like the other "builder" that was giving alot of other customers headaches last year . and by looking at his feedback on ebay i would be carefull .

i would be curiuos to find out how hot the outside walls get after running for an hour at 400 , those walls look a little thin
