    Outgass ?

Shot a magnessiul cover and did a basecoat with KL primer and no signs of any imperfections.Did Mirror black and have a bunch of outgass areas.Whats a good way to fix it other than stripping it and doing it over?

Depending on how deep the OG craters or dust, etc. go, you could try sanding and buffing them out. If they go into the "pink stuff" ( NO NOT THAT PINK STUFF! ), then sand the holes and rest of the part smooth and try another coat. Try not to do too many coats or the letters will start to fill in.

Well i'm stripping it now.Sanded in down, wiped with acetone, blasted with air and did a second coat.It came out to a matte like finish after about 10 minutes-never glossed over and the whole piece looked like it had tiny pinholes everywhere?Kinda stumped so starting from scratch again.

Are you sure you are getting all of the acetone dried off? I have completely quit using acetone and I don't have the problems I did before.

after wiping down the part i got into the habit of hitting the part with a propane torch or sticking it back in the oven for a couple minutes to be sure its totally dry before shooting.

Did you sand the primer and/or clean it with anything before applying the black?
I did have the same issue with those nasty chrome wheels I just did in gloss black over the KL primer. The primer went on great and came out nice and smooth with no signs of outgassing. The gloss black however, did show the outgassing pinholes everywhere there was pitting where the chrome had flaked off. Luckily for me, that occurred on the back side of the wheels so it wasn't an issue (for this customer at least), but I was surprised to see it outgass through the fully cured KL primer, although I did let the wheels cool overnight before I shot the black. Maybe that was the problem.

Well its fixed,KL primer sanded and recoated Mirror black.Looks better than the first try but this time a small amount of OP,hard to get the Black to stick along the bottom edge of the cover this time but i'm happy with it.
