  • Show me your rack!

It seems like every day I think of a new rack to build that will be universal. Other than the rack posted by Harley, I haven't seen to many racks, just alot of oven pics.

Maybe by posting pics of your racks, and their oven counterparts I'll be able to narrow down a design that would work really well.

    Thanks!

This one rolls from spray room to, but not into the oven and just bolts together. I adjusted the height to match my oven track so parts roll right in. You have to click on the attachment for the full pic.

very similar system as what i use . only difference wht i had on hand was some old garage door tracks so i have 2 tracks on the oven s side walls and 2 matching tracks on my rack , made a rolling section with 6 garage door wheels wich rolls from my main rack to the oven tracks easily even with a couple hundred pounds of parts

I take it you blow these off before it goes into the oven?

I'm guessing he's talking about the powder on any rack that slides into the oven when curing...

the only part of the rack that goes in the oven is the top part where the wheels are ., since it is on the top i will not blow it off since it is over the parts i just coated, but there is not much powder that gets there and the way i installed the wheels
the axle shafts on them are really loose so even if powder gets in there the wheels will keep turning

Sounds like a good idea, got any pics? I was going to make another rack the same way, but your sliding trays sounds like they would be more useful. That's the framing I used also, was garage door track I can get for a $1 a foot.

Where do you get this stuff for a buck a foot? I've looked everywhere and no retail outlets sell just the track.

I forgot to ask, what type of bearings do you use in that box tracking?

All i find are derlin bearings that I'm sure will melt the first time around.

Go to the local garage door companies and see if they'll sell you some. They use it to hang the garage door track. As much as they buy I'm sure they're at least breaking even or still making a little at $1 a foot.
