I agree that it sounds like one you don't want to mess with. Welcome to the forum by the way.

    Best of luck.

    Welcome to the Forum obie,
When you say "creamed" on the inside I assume you mean it's been sealed. The sealer will not take the the cure temp and will create a hugh mess. I'd run the other way.
The mud will also not take cure temps. As far as using a primer, depends how bad of shape the tank is in.
Thanks for the welcome... The tank was custom built and was "sealed" on the inside already as he wants to strip the paint off and have it redone. Maybe I will stay away from this one, unless there is another way.... Thanks

this is a sore subject for me, I only do new tanks to try to avoid some of those problems but believe they should be painted. sheet metal inherently has warping, imperfections, and variance. primer can only help so much.and i've had issues covering primer with multiple coats.on a tank you may get a good ground in the tunnel area, ground will be extremly important over primer. I have had some great results doing tanks, but its not worth the aggravation in my opinion. others here have come across this and i'm sure they can give you better info, good luck.
