The older guys know what is going in this picture. Just part of the inspection looking for tumors. They look like Mexican so I could consider they might not have the technology to do it any other way. Could be worse like being a drug mule for the cartel that job would suck having to shit on command to drop your stash.

What makes you think they are Mexican? If I would have to take a wild guess I would say they are Indian, which would make a lot more sense given the circumstances (ELEPHANT!).
