I picked these pieces up from a local Bakery Equipment company who are looking for a new coater. The biggest one is a base for a bun divider. It is new cast aluminum. Its been taking me about 5 minutes to mask the necessary places. The casting is rough like new cast is and I was planning to go over it with a sander to smooth out the edges and get rid of casting marks and just to detail it out. One of the problems with their currrent coater is almost no attention to detail , blow and go as Harleydad puts it. I Have the time to do better quality for them, and they make alot more equipment , this is my test. I timed the sanding at about 5 minutes per unit. They are specifying a Dupont white powder, 2 coats with a 7-12 mil total thickness. Thats right off the spec sheet. Looks like I'll be getting a thickness meter. Does that seem the norm ? The small bent piece is also new cast aluminum. Its the cover for the unit. Its 11 inches long and about 3 1/2 wide, masking and plugs in that , 2 min or less. The darker thing is the counterweight. 11 1/2 pounds of cast iron.
There are going to be about 35 of these every 5-6 weeks, so this will be a nice account to get and this is only one of their machines they make 7-8 others. They are 2 miles or less from my place so I am picking them up and delivering them back for free.
I was thinking in the 45-55 for the 3 pieces.
