  • Post Pics of how you hang your wheels for coating.

Ive seen it done with chain wrapped around the center of the drum and with some type of bolt through the valve stem hole and hung. Personally, Im thinking of using some allthread with 2 washers and nuts and bending it to hang in my oven so its only one peice I would have to worry about and it would go through the valve stem hole so no funk where chain is placed.

Any ideas or cool new ways I have not seen or thought of?

i take a piece of .030 tie wire and wrap it around the center of the wheel and hang it from that . thats the easiest way for me to do them . then just cut the wire off and throw it away .

I haven't determined the best way for me to hang mine yet. I have tried wrapping a chain around the rims but they twist and swing and I am afraid of them bumping together. On the eastwood forum someone made an rolling rack that he clamped the rims on that was hinged so he could swing each rim out and coat the back side then swing them back in and lock them into position. Right now I am using 1 gal soup cans and I set the rim on the back of the mounting position on the can. This keeps the face and lip of the rim from touching anything. Still really cuts back on production time as I can only do 2 rims at a time.

We can only do 2 rims at a time also.... we hang ours by chains & plug the centres.... i like the look of the "tree" .... will have to add that to the list of "honey do`s"

Most wheels i hang with a 6''-8''Long 3/8 I-bolt threw the Valve stem hole.. I get them pretty cheap in the fastener section at the local Home Depot...

make sure if you use the bolt through the stem hole to make sure they hang straight or a little in on the bottom, if you have a heavy hand powder can accumulate on the lower lip if they are not straight.
