Guest repliedRe: Questions about the PCI show in Indianapolis
I have been to more than my share of trade shows and while they are geared slightly toward the production line type of operations there is a lot of knowledge to be gathered for even the greenest of coaters. There are good basic technical seminars and some of the equipment manufacturers even have equipment set up for you to try. Your best bet for getting in cheap is to see it any of your suppliers have comp. tickets to get in free.
Not to mention Indy really is a nice city.

Re: Questions about the PCI show in Indianapolis
I WAS READING ABOUT THE UPCOMING SHOWS IN THE POWDER COATING MAGAZINE, I WAS ALSO THINKING ABOUT GOING BUT THEY SEEM TO BE MORE ORIENTED TO PRODUCTION LINE OPERATIONS. IF YOU END UP GOING LET US KNOW WHAT THAY ARE ALL ABOUT. I ALSO THOUGHT ABOUT CHECKING OUT SOME HANDS ON CLASSES, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE TRIAL AND ERROR, AND THESE FORUMS HAVE JUST AS MUCH INFO. I FIGURE IF THE PART PREP IS GOOD,AND THERE ARE KNOWLEDGABLE PEOPLE TO ASK ABOUT POWDER FUNCTION, THEN IT TAKES PRACTICE AND GETTING COMFORTABLE WITH THE EQUIPTMENT YOU HAVE. KIND OF LIKE WELDING. NOTHING BEATS DOING IT.AND I ALMOST FORGOT, A GOOD POWDER STRIPPER TO CLEAN UP THE MISTAKES.

Questions about the PCI show in Indianapolis
Since we are talking about road tripsmy partner and I have been looking at the PCI Coating Show 2008 since it is only about 2 1/2 hrs away.
Has anyone here been to one of these?
Is it worth going to atleast the exhibit part for a "custom" coater?
Also they have hands on work shops.....is this worth looking into?Tags: None
