Ill tell you right now, you are not gonna find many fans of acetone here. Ive never used it, but most folks here say its a no-no. Personally, the outgassing I have seen were much larger bubbles than that. I dont know for sure.
Harleydad...that very well could possibly be the problem. That was done BEFORE I put an inline filter on my compressor. I am getting ready to do some steel rims, hopefully problem will be solved because I REALLY dont want to have to strip powder off!!
lots of little "craters"
Stainless that was pre treated with Acetone, Hyper Smooth gun.
I also doubt outgassing problem. This looks very much like condamination.
Is your gun/fluidhopper clean?
Check airsupply as suggested.
Also check your oven. Sometimes the forced air is contaminated with _old_ powder residue.
Your picture is not clear enough but it looks like gray or black. Some powders are totaly incompatible (urethans-hybrids). The smallest amount will cuase such craters.
most of these guys and gals are much smarter than I, but I usually wipe down with alcohol, let dry, and run over the part with a small torch before shooting.
