  • Need help pricing a job...

I just received a call from a local slot machine distributor and a good friend who I used to work for. He is requesting a quote to have some button panels powder coated.

I tried finding a generic picture of them but found nothing. They are basically flat metal panels with a few square holes in them for buttons, if you've ever sat in front of a slot machine you know what I'm talking about.

Each panel is about 18 inches wide and 3-4 inches tall. They are solid metal, about 12-14 gauge thick flat panels. They each have 4-5 studs that would need to be capped.

Process would require the removal of the current finish (either paint or powder at random) by using chemicals, then sand blast them. Shoot a new coat of either gold or wrinkle black and deliver.

I can cure an entire batch of them at once. I'm expecting 30 of them on the first round and should be able to handle them with the new oven.

Any ideas of how much I should be charging? I used to work for this company a few years ago but for the life of me I can't remember how much we used to pay for these panels.

    Thank you!

If I remember correctly I've seen some invoices for that amount before for this same job... so that might be in the right ball park

Just got quotes for $20 and $25 from two different local shops LOL. I guess that's a pretty good indication of where my price should be since it's the same number I come up with after factoring my cost.
