Steel skis are more than likely painted, not powdercoated. At roughly 3' long and 6" wide, to blast/primer/topcoat - I'd figure $40 to $50 each. (Probably low though)

I tried to buy some aluminum oxide media from a local monument/marker outfit here. He had some. 20 and 30 grit! I don't even think one of those rocks would go through the hose, let alone the nozzle!

Juan":6pyjjt04]Aaah gotcha. I've gotten screwed before by giving prices on items without seeing them before. Starting to learn my lesson though...
Giving a price without seeing the part can get ya sometimes. Ya gotta be careful, ya do learn quick though.
Yup, most common so far:
Me: "I thought you said this was bare metal?"
Customer: "Well, it is. Underneath the 3 coats of paint and clear."
That's always a good one.[/quote:6pyjjt04]
I hope you add, "Subject to part condition, above and beyond normal prep will cost extra" with all your quotes. Thats what I say on quotes where I can't see the part. I also say if you bring me a load of grease with a valve cover somewhere in side I'll charge you $50/Hr to clean it so please bring it reasonably clean. I won't actually charge the guy 50 an hour but it gets the point across.
I don't think I'm out of line asking the customer to bring in a somewhat clean part. I'm not in the degreasing business
