  • NIC--the "Diva" of the powder world

I guess they can just do what they want eh?

I'm stupid enough to try to deliver whatever the customer wants. To the level of showing the NIC color chips I have.

    derr What an idiot-

So, this guy needs jewel grey and laser blueberry. I posted here, but didn;t get anything solid.

derr #2 I should have called on the phone.

So, just to be sure-I ordered 40.00 worth of powder for a 80.00 job. I figure what the heck, I will have the remaining colors , and he's a friend.
    derrr#3

I ordered the stuff first thing Monday on the Assurance it would be here by Friday.
I was assured it was in stock and would ship right away "today"
I called my friend and told him to plan on coming down Sunday, Nov 16
    derr#4

I received an email on Wednesday to notify me it had shipped.
I immediately called, and was told it would indeed be here by Friday.

    " you're in Utah correct?'
    " umm, no, Kansas"
" Oh, well it should still get there on time"

Friday rolled around and my porch was never set foot on. So, I called my friend and told him the bad news. Now, to get my $$ I have to wait for his next day off. It might not sound like much, but I am operating on a tight budget. I don't even have a shoestring, all I have is that plastic thing to keep it from fraying when I do get one-

Well, it did arrive on schedule though, considering the scheduled delivery was 11-17-08.

Then I saw the bill. their shipping and "handling" charge is a rip off.

    26.29 for shipping 4lbs?

    Oh my--

    aint she purty though?

    My point is,
I have decided to do whatever I can to help PBTP develop new colors.

All I can do from here is demand them, as I see it. Is there anything else I can do?

I have pretty much the same story last time I order from NIC but add another $21 for fee's to get it in from the US to Canada.
I talked to Matt about another issue since this and told him the story and he told me next time to phone him and he would help in anyways he could. Just another example of how awsome PBTP staff is.

Sorry to heard about the hassle man. This is exactly the reason why I only deal with PBTP. The support that Matthew, Shelly, and Don provide is simply the best.

Re: NIC--the "Diva" of the powder world

i have always had a few suppliers on my list for buying powders , and right now the one that has priority is PBTP.
so when a customer shows up i always try to get him too choose one of their colors , if he wants a color from a different supplier i tell them that the job will be more expensive and that the turnaround will be longer. most of the time they will go for the pbtp color and if they don t then i covered myself by charging more

Re: NIC--the "Diva" of the powder world

Word, My first and only expeirence with NIC was bad. I ordered 1 lb of two powders. They shipped and billed me for 2 lbs of each. No phone call, or email just charge away. No where on their site does it say 2lb minimum, and their own shopping cart lets you put in 1 lb.

I was going to refuse the shipment, so they bent. They credited my account for the 2 lbs.

Anyone need 1.8lbs of Shimmer River?

Once I fill the balance of the credit I will only use them as last resort.

              PBTP all the way!

OK wheres that gas can? What do you guys do if PBTP does not have a color that matches and/or comes close? I have a job coming up on a 69 Camaro in a custom paint color. Like you guys I checked PBTP first, nothing close. Then looked at NIC and they have five colors(by the pics on thier site) that look very close to the cars color. PBTP is closer and has decent service, but if they don't have the right color or one close its kinda hard to buy from them. Not trying to Pi$$ on anyone parade but..........
